The first problem was when a moth flew inside the casing of the computer and died across the circuit board of the hard drive, crashing the computer. How I hate that blue screen!
No sooner had we got that fixed, then both the computer and the fax/answerphone were fried, probably by a power surge. We use a UPS so that was the last thing we expected, after coming back from a few days’ away, having unplugged everything before we had gone away. There had been a power cut all day on the day that we returned, so we didn’t switch on the computer and fax/answerphone until the next day.
When we did … Nothing! Totally dead!
Anyway, after obtaining enough parts to almost build a new computer from scratch, we are getting straight again now! I hope it lasts … at least for a while!
