Dear, sweet little Kitkat is no longer with us. She developed parasitic biliary a few weeks ago, which destroyed her liver. Although she spent some time on a drip at the veterinary hospital, her jaundiced little body was unable to sustain food, and she passed away last night. She was with us for such a short time but it feels like she has always been there.
This type of biliary appears to be prevalent in the local feral cat population seemingly being passed down by the mother cat and we, at The Ark, pledge to do all we can to prevent future generations of cats being born with it. This is the least we can do in Kitkat's memory. Hopefully, in future posts we can report on what we are doing in this respect.
Thank you, Kitkat, for giving us such joy for the short time you were with us.
